About that...

Not that I think anyone should read this blog ever, but the 30 day picture challenge is obviously not working for me.

So instead I will talk about a new chapter in my life I like to call self-improvement.

This involves:
-Writing in this blog more.
-Meeting new people.
-Growing closer to people I already know.
-Managing my money better.
-Going out more.
-Being more positive.
-NOT drinking tequila. Ever.
-Putting myself out there and being proactive.
-Reading more plays.
-Taking criticism better.
-Letting go of control.
-Letting other people win.
-Forgiving.
-Moving on.

THAT IS ALL.

30 Day Challenge. Day 1.

A Picture of Yourself With 15 Facts.
1. I go to school in New York for acting
2. I have the best friends anyone could ever ask for.
3. I like to be in charge which evidently points to control issues.
4. I like everything to look as beautiful as possible.
5. I am single.
6. I like having all of my things with me wherever I live.
7. I'm from Texas and I don't have an accent (I know, shocking.)
8. I have 4 cats, 3 dogs, 2 birds, fish, gerbils, and turtles back home,
but I miss my two cats and Boston Terrier the most.
9. I'm dying without animals. Every time I see a Boston on the street
or a kitten somewhere I die a little bit inside.
10. I have recently discovered that I previously knew very little about acting,
and what I've learned I can't even begin to know how to apply yet.
11. I am an enormous procrastinator.
12. I wish life was like Pushing Daisies.
13. If you asked me what my favorite movie was, I couldn't tell you. If I did,
it'd probably just be the last one I saw. In this case, The Pianist is my favorite.
14. I'm re-reading Harry Potter right now and consequently re-living my childhood.
15. I've decided that I want to find someone like me to fall in love with.

Well, here I am

The apartment is empty, and I don't leave the City until tomorrow night. All we have left to eat is soup and frozen meat. And peanut butter. So here I am with my Campbell's classic waiting to go home where it's 80 degrees outside. I don't feel too lonely, though. No matter how alone you think you are in this city, there will always be an unspoken connection between one stranded person and another because everyone is going through the same thing. New York is full of empathy, even if people don't show it. Besides, every turn you take on this massive grid is teeming with life just happening. It's hard to feel completely desolate when you're surrounded by energy being exchanged in every direction.

On a less general note, I am ready to go home... I've been packed since yesterday afternoon. Not going home for Thanksgiving really did a number on me, especially because I wasn't expecting myself to care as much as I did. I miss Texas. I miss having a Target down the street, being able to sit on a porch, eating Southern food and I miss having pets. I know once I get there I'll miss being on my own, feeling surrounded by friends, being busy, seeing the buildings, and the exploring. But for now, I miss the Texas stuff. The good stuff.

For now, that's all I have to say.
